The new Chromecast device is also smart enough to detect what content you are watching and will automatically begin playing it from your favourite streaming service at that moment so that you don’t have to select a particular app or content directly from its remote control or even use voice commands as it is voice-enabled through Google Assistant support and uses artificial intelligence to recognize your voice commands across platforms including mobile phones, smart speakers and televisions.

A new feature called “Cast Screen” allows you to watch videos from your smartphone on your TV screen by casting them from your phone to an HDMI port of the Chromecast device which means you can watch videos stored on your smartphone while keeping it away from you while using another device such as a tablet or laptop without having to interrupt what you are doing on one of them by pressing a button on your smartphone or using the camera on it.

The new device will be available from the Google Play Store from the beginning of September 2017 for $69.99 and will be compatible with Android devices running version 4.4 or higher and iOS devices running version 8.0 or higher, including Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick and Fire TV, as well as from a wide range of other devices including Samsung Smart TVs, LG smart TVs, Roku, Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

For Samsung Smart TVs, the Google Chromecast will be available as a software update which means you can use it with your TV already. You can download the update from the Samsung Apps and Play Store.
